Is your middle name really “Danger?”

I honestly wish the story behind why “Danger Haynes” was more exciting. I can imagine telling people that my nickname came about because I was known for living a life full of danger, or that I always got into trouble, or really anything. I usually just people that my parents were big James Bond fans.

Which makes absolutely zero sense.

The true story:

A friend of mine, Matt Potts (an incredible musician and song writer) had two passions: sandwiches and learning people’s middle name. And just to be difficult, I refused to tell him the mystery that is the name between my first and last. That didn’t stop him from asking pretty much any time we would hang out.

Finally, with the hope that he would stop, I told him it was Danger.

Ok, yeah, that is kind of lame. But you have to imagine me pulling off my sunglasses and using my most dramatic bad ass acting voice.

It was funny at the time. The funnier part is that everyone thought it sounded kind of cool – William Danger Haynes was born…the name at least, the actual person had been around for a while.

When it came time to give some kind of name to my music project, it only seemed fitting to use a name that was born while hanging out with other musicians…plus maybe it will increase my chances with the ladies…or the mob.

P.S. The time you took to read this post is time that you will never get back. You’re welcome.
